Calming Donut Bed
Dogs and cats sleep curled because a curled animal is a protected one. The raised rim on this bed is doing something specific: it gives the head and spine somewhere to rest, and it puts a wall at their back.
The centre sinks; the sides hold. Anxious sleepers, older joints and anyone who has ever tried to sleep on a flat mat all benefit from the same thing — a surface that closes around them rather than one they have to hold themselves on.
Why it earns its place
- The rim is the point. Deep enough to support a resting head, which is what turns dozing into actual sleep.
- Warmth without a heat source. Dense faux fur traps body heat, which suits thin-coated breeds and older pets.
- Washable, properly. The whole bed goes in the machine, not just a cover.
- Waterproof, non-slip base. Stays where you put it, and accidents don't reach the floor.
Size and fit
One size: 20 × 20 × 8 in (51 × 51 × 20 cm). Built for cats and small dogs up to roughly 15 lb / 7 kg — the size where a donut bed genuinely works, because the pet fills it and the rim reaches them.
Measure your pet nose to tail while they're curled. If that measurement is over 18 in, they'll hang over the rim and the bed won't do its job — a flat mat will suit them better.
Details
- High-fluff, high-density polyester fill in a plush faux-fur shell
- Waterproof, dustproof, anti-slip base
- Fits a car seat or boot as easily as a corner of the room
Care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, tumble dry low. Pat the fill back into shape while it's still slightly damp, then let it finish drying — this is what keeps the rim standing over time.
When it arrives
It ships vacuum-compressed. Pat it out and give it a few hours to loft up before deciding it's smaller than expected — it isn't, it's just been in a box.
