Deshedding Brush Set

Most shedding brushes only reach the topcoat. The undercoat — the dense layer that actually ends up on your clothes — needs a different tool.

This set is three: a double-sided rake for the undercoat, a wide-tooth comb for working through tangles, and a fine-tooth comb for finishing and for checking the skin. Ten minutes with all three does more than an hour with any single brush.

Care

Wipe the teeth after each session. Keep the wood dry; don't soak or dishwash.

How to use it

Start with the wide side of the rake to open up any matting. Switch to the dense side and work in short strokes in the direction of the coat. Finish with the combs. Work in short sessions rather than one long one — most pets will sit for five minutes happily and fidget through fifteen.
